Pyrometallurgy

Pyrometallurgical processes have always occupied a central position within extractive metallurgy, whether it be to roast, aggregate, concentrate, distil or reduce the oxides in metals or to purify them.

The CTP makes available its expertise in non-ferrous metals to carry out personalised pyrometallurgical tests. By way of example, the CTP has in particular studied and piloted an innovative zinc fuming process which has been industrialised in South Korea and Vietnam.

To carry out its experiments, the CTP employs a series of laboratory and pilot furnaces.
